Epic Charging announces appointment of Michael Bakunin as Chief Executive Officer
Redwood City, California - April 17, 2023 - Epic Charging, a technology startup that provides epic service and the best value for fleets, public agencies and small business owners, today announced that Michael Bakunin has joined as Chief Executive Officer. Ilya Marin will become the Chief Operating Officer and will also become a member of the Board of Directors.
Under Ilya Marin’s leadership, Epic Charging validated product market fit, developed a software platform that increases revenue and reduces costs for fleets and EV charging station operators, and became a certified vendor in leading utility and state rebate programs (including offered by Southern California Edison, LADWP, CALeVIP and others).

Michael Bakunin, PhD, brings over 20 years of experience in the e-mobility industry, including almost a decade at Nissan, with a focus on smart charging, V2G technology, and medium and heavy-duty electric vehicle fleet operations. Dr. Bakunin most recently served as Managing Director of FTI Consulting in the Power, Renewables & Utilities practice. He will build on Epic Charging’s mission to deliver epic service and epic value for fleets and EV charging station owners.
