How Cyber Switching chargers work with Epic Charging

Cyber Switching is a U.S. power management company, founded in 1994 and based in San Jose, California, that manufactures commercial EV charging hardware. It does not operate a charging network. Its chargers communicate over OCPP, which means the management platform behind them is a separate choice. Epic Charging is that platform. Epic supplies Cyber Switching chargers and runs them on its own OCPP-based management software, so the hardware and the operations come from one provider.

Yes, they can be moved. Cyber Switching chargers communicate over OCPP, so changing the management platform means repointing the charger at a new backend address, not replacing the equipment. Epic onboards existing commercial chargers onto its platform in roughly two weeks. Your hardware, your electrical work and your installation all stay exactly where they are.

What a migration involves

Compatibility check.
We confirm model, firmware and OCPP version for each charger on the site. 1 to 2 days.
Account and site build.
Sites, pricing, user groups and access rules configured to match how the site actually runs. Within week 1.
Backend repoint.
Each charger's OCPP endpoint is redirected to Epic. Remote where the chargers allow it, on site where they do not. Same day per site.
Credential cutover.
RFID cards re-issued or re-mapped, drivers moved to the Epic app. Overlaps the repoint.
Verification and handover.
Test sessions, payment verification, reporting checks, then U.S.-based support takes over. 2 to 3 days.
Epic has moved more than 3,000 chargers onto its platform from networks that shut down or were retired, including JuiceBox and Tritium hardware. The process for a Cyber Switching estate is the same one.
